Global Strategic Supplier Manager (M/F/D)
Your responsibilities
- Leading continuous improvement programs of suppliers performance on their manufaturing processes, striving for „zero defects“.
- Identifying & leading initiatives with our suppliers to enable sustainable improvements that led into cost saving and / or avoidance.
- Supporting the root cause analyses and implementation of corrective and preventive actions for major impacting non-conformities in products and services at suppliers
- Identifying potential opportunities for improvements in quality & costs
- Monitoring supplier performance KPI´s, analysing supplier´s manufacturing processes, quality records, complaints and other sources of data
- Working closely with purchasing, manufacturing, quality and R&D to assure continious improvement of product, services and processes to meet quality and cost requirements at the suppliers.
- Performing process audits to identify improvement opportunities and ensure implementation of improvement actions.
- Providing technical support for supplier selection acc. category and/or sourcing strategy initiatives
- Providing technical guidance and expertise internally and to suppliers regarding manufacturing processes, quality methods and techniques
Our requirements
- University degree, preferably in metallurgical, materials, chemicals or mechanical engineering
- Experience with various manufacturing processes for fasteners (e.g. surface treatment, heat treatment, wire drawing, cold forming)
- Familiar with automotive and construction industry standards
- 6 Sigma/ Lean project skills highly desirable
- Data visualization and analytics skills
- Experience in leading supplier development programs
- Experience in quality management and methods or willingness to develop in this field
- Proved experience on performing supplier audits, based on VDA 6.3
- Autonomy and leadership
- Negotiation skills
- Ability to take decisions in difficult situations
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting competence
- Ability to lead cross functional teams and task forces
- Good command in English, both written and verbal, German would be an advantage
- Intercultural competence and willingness to travel
